Post Workout Nutrition

What to eat after your workout.

We all know exercise is an important factor in maintaining health, and loosing weight. But what is equally even more important is your diet. What you put into your body makes up 80% of your fitness and weight loss efforts! 80%!!! Remember that when eating your next meals.

So depending on what type of exercise you are doing, it will dictate what you should eat after.

If you're running, or completing any type of high intensity cardiovascular training, you need will need to replenish your energy stores with complete good carbohydrates. Like; Sweet Potatoes, Squash, Beans, Quinoa, Brown Rice, or Fruit.

If you're resistance training (weight lifting), protein is your BFF. Eat at least 25 grams of protein 20-30 minutes after your workout. Fish, Chicken, Beef, Seafood, or a Protein Shake.

If you're combining the two types of exercise either through a circuit program, sport condition training, or simple weights & cardio, you'll need to eat both protein & complete carbs.

Also, some people think "Oh because I'm working out, I can afford to eat a cheeseburger after my workout." Right? WRONG! You need to ingest healthy natural foods for your body to repair itself, and continue on the path of healthy living.
