Injury Recovery

One of my friends injured his gluteus maxims (butt muscle) last night climbing. He over extended his leg, and then put awkward pressure down, which I'm pretty sure tore the muscle or the tiny tendons that attach the muscle to the hip bone.

He told me of immense pain in his butt when he woke up, and that he could barely get out of bed. Now, when this happens, I recommend a hot shower to relax the muscle, followed by a topical analgesic cream (MyoMed is great) to help relieve the pain...You can also take Advil to help ease the pain in conjunction with the cream.
If you work in an office, or are sitting most of your work day, please remember to take short breaks often to get up and stretch the muscle, or go for a walk. Remaining sedentary will only create more stiffness and swelling in the affected area, which will slow down the healing process.
You need to keep the blood flowing!
